new acrylic would crack similarly also; and theres no telling how new the new acrylic is.
acrylic can be buffed to bring back the "newness"

well, we don't really know if the old sump has been left outdoors exposed to the elements, UV from sun, hot and cold weather etc that can make the acrylic crack.

true, thats a question for swayd - he probably checked the sump before it was brought home. maybe from a running system or maybe something that was just sitting around.

if it was 100 gallons or more that applies a lot of pressure on the seams I wouldnt offer up the patch option. but on a 20g total volume, the actual sump volume used would be 10G or less and theres compartments. so not really a high pressure application here

Yeah decided to just get the sump offered. I looked at the crack again and it runs along one of the baffle seams as well. I would not be able to successfully repair it without taking out the baffles.
If anyone is willing to take the chance and patch it, you can have this sump just come and get it.

Sump has gone to a new home! From thinking I was hooking up swayd. He comes with a return pump in hand and offered as a trade! Been wanting to setup a water change station and now I have a pump to setup. Thanks again, pleasure meeting you.

Thanks for the new sump bro, now I can start setting up this new tank and don't have to worry about the sump leaking. Really Appreciate the generosity.
