They are all actually A. Austera.
I agree. Many of the tortuosa's are actually A. austera (The becker tort comes to mind, as well as the yellow tort). The Myagi tort is likely at least a dozen different specimens all called the same thing because they look similiar. And, it's not very difficult to make such a mistake due to the fact that the A. austera is a species of coral which can greatly vary in shape and coloration depending upon how much light and flow is given.

Here are a few of my "Myagi Tort's."

The first picture is the second original "Myagi Tort." Dave Botwin got this in almost two years ago and at the time, it could not be identified. Dave sent to the coral to another reefer, who had identified it as the Myagi Tort. Now, two different specimens were both named the Myagi tort.

wait... was is up with all the pics of yellow corals? My understanding was that Miyagis are purple. Mine has slight tinges of green, but it is predominantly purple.

Here is a thread of my colony over a year ago.

It's funny how this Miyagi thing has taken off... it startedwith two local friends Robz (TOTM Oct. '03) and John Nguyen (TOTM April '02). John got a colony of this at the same local place I got mine, and at the time under Radiums it was a deep purple and appeared "tortish". Robie would joke about John calling him Mr. Miyagi as he would trim his corals like the Karate Kid legend... it got into the boards... and then to Chris at RM... and the legend was started...:D .

Mine has maintained the same color as the photos in the other thread, but I can't seem to grab the old image... a beautiful unique coral whatever it's called...

The original "Miyagi" was as mine is... dark purple under 20k and lighter under 10k, but now it seems to be synonomous with this species of coral regardless of color...

I have a question for you guys that have these - Where do think the best placement for blue coloration is? I have mine near the bottom under 2 x 250w 10k's and 440w VHO actinic. The branches are more purple, less blue. The polyps are bright blue and just poke out a little during the day but are fully out at night.

Here's mine

I got mine from Robz. Right now its behind my rock structure after being knocked over by a fish! I can see it through a tiny gap in the rock work and it is getting some light. As soon as my new rock cures I can restructure and pull it out. Hope it can survive 2-3 more weeks (its been there 2 months so far)

yeah..
i think i saved that piece from somewhere.

Leishman, i got one from VA_reefman...(JOHN)..
he's the original guy who spread the miyagi tort..

Of course... he's Mr Miyagi himself!:D Robie got it from John, and named it appropriately... between the four of us I just realized we have four continents covered...:D (va_reefman ASIA, Robz South America, Leishman Europe, me North America)... useless piece of info but funny I thought...:D
