Can I see some Miyagi Torts?

Yes the Vlamingi did it (I saw him) I also saw him flip my efflo, I thought it was the Tunzes on the pulse that did it. SOB has flipped it 3 times in 10 days. I lost my superman monti and oregon tort to that fish!

I'd have a tangwich if my fish did that. ;)

This guy would fill a 12" sub. I saved the coral and it's fine. The tang has calmed down now and is no nonger a coral mover.

copps,

Speaking of coral spreading. I have a frag of Superman monti that originated from you. This particular one is 4th generation.

Well, I got it originally in 2003 from Robie Sayan (Oct. '03 tank of the month and coiner of the "Miyagi" coral name)... he got it from John Susbilla (Tubs)... all of this was of course when it was just the "red and blue danae":D... Last year I shipped a bunch of frags to rural Alaska believe it or not with a frag of the Superman... all arrived perfectly and after talking with the guy who received them apparently there are just a handful of sps reefers up there and he believed he was the first to have it in Alaska... What a great hobby :)

It came from John? That's too funny. John is a really good friend of mine. I'm going to have to email him and find out where it came from. I may have to start a thread tracing this thing back to the ocean. :D

Back to the Miyagis. John gets them, but no one ever asks for them.

I just looked through an old thread ofmine and actually Robie got it from Sam Taborah (aka Bruddah), who originally offered in on Exoticreefs and I believe got it as a wild colony. Tubs also got it from Sam I believe... not sure if anyone can trace it before Sam, but I believe I remember him getting it wild...

John , I emailed tubs and he said the same thing. Sam got it from a trade in LA. I started a new thread here:

Here's a pic of a Miyagi.

This one only lived a couple months for me:

This one I got in a trade. The guy had a huge mother colony that he got from Reefermadness. It must have been close to the size of a basketball. I've had this one for about 8 months and it is doing well and grows at a moderate pace. This pic is from 4 months ago:

Here's mine from ReeferMadness about 3 months ago. Growing very well I might add. Has more greenish hues on the new growth:

Here is a frag for one that Sand dollar has ..I am growing this out to distribute across our state along with a few other nice things.
