Tank has been up and running three months now have calcium up to 400 ppm . About to calculate on how much A&B suplement is needed daily. ph is 8.4 carbonate 10 salinity 1.025 everything else 0 don't have mag test . So what is virdict and it will be purchased from Dr Foster & Smith starter nano package.

Well, probably the first question you will get is what kind of light do you have? Everything considered from what you told us though, I would have to say yes you can keep easy "starter" corals. I haven't checked what the starter nano package has in it but I have seen it before. If I remember correctly they are all softies and only need lower intensity light but nonetheless the answer should be yes.

first, why dose if nothing is needed??? And especially if you're just gonna be having softies for a while, there will be pretty much no use for dosing and it could (and probably would) just hurt the tank. I dont see why people make such a big deal about dosing when they could just do water changes once every 2 weeks, or when its just softies (or both :) )

Second...i suggest trying to find a few local people and get your first corals from them instead. It will be a lot cheaper (if any) than liveaquaria.com. Plus, people always hook you up with stuff, no shipping, etc... Look in the club forums on here and find one close to you.

Good point. I second everything sir_dudeguy said. Another point on the dosing; softies don't use calcium at all, only the lps and sps use it. Only time I would dose instead of just doing water changes is if I had an extremely sps stocked tank that was using the minerals too fast to adequately keep up with by just doing water changes but most of the time water changes will do it.

ya forgot to say that....man its late lol. Heavily stocked sps/lps tanks seem to be the only ones that people constantly dose stuff in. And like said above...softies dont use calcium that i know of. They may use very little, but even that...i'm not sure of.
