Can I use a sponge from ich tank?

So my dt had ich. It's been fallow for 35 days. I've had my fish go through Ttm and are in qt (non cycled) and I'm doing 10% water changes daily to help with ammonia build up. This is getting really labour intensive as I have to change out 5gallons daily and costly with salt. Can I use a sponge that's been in my sump to get my qt cycled?

So it's safe to use prime everyday? How often should I do a water change if I choose to leave it uncalled?

Using prime or equivalent every other day should be fine. How many fish? If a lot, every day would be preferred

It's an interesting question. The probability is that if ich remains in the display, there are some cysts in the sponge. However, I have used ceramic biomedia for my display that contains ich to cycle my QT and have not had ich present on the new fish. If your goal is to have an ich-free display then you shouldn't use the sponge.
