Can I wire MJ's together

I wanted to wire 2 or 3 MJ 1200 pwr heads together, so that I only use one wall contact. Since they use only 20 watts each, I think its safe. Yes, or no?

You should be fine, pending your wiring skills. Wire them in Parallel, not series.

Keven,

Why not just use a powerstrip or splitter? As supplied, the cords are watertight (or nearly so). By cutting into them, you increase the odds that water could seep in, etc.

Inexpensive powerstrips are les than $5.

I am using 5 power strips right now, I only have 2 free sockets. I want to use 3 MJ's more to bring it up to 100X turnover. I plan on a drip loop below the joint. So water won't seep into my wiring. Just checking if there was something about this that I did'nt think of.

Keven,

Yikes! Sounds like what you really need another circuit

Also... 100x turnover?!?!? I am a huge fan of good water movement but that seems like an excessive goal.

Make sure you're not overloading that circuit. I'm reminded of the christmas tree scene in "A Christmas Story." You don't want to blow the breaker and have the tank crash.

sounds like your in need of a power center,

a cheap soluntion would be wiring up 16 home outlets to individual extension cords and plugging them into the back of a dj power panel such as a chauvet or american dj. It took me less then an hour and I have no electriction skills at all ... I njust got a home wiring book from the library some outlets from home depot and 2 power panels off of ebay.

Don't worry friends, I covered the basics in the beggining. I don't have all my pwr bars going to the same circuit. They are split up to 4 different 20 amp circuits. So there is absolutly no problem of tripping it. Electricity is dirt cheap here, so I'm taking advantage. Also Adam, I can see how on paper 100X turnover looks excessive, but you would be very surprised. In the whole tank there is only gentle irregular currents, nothing hard AND believe it or not right now with about 80X turnover I have 2 dead spots. Hence the additional MJ's.
