Hi,

I am in the process of buying a p2plus, i don't need redox or orb so i don't think i need the ex model. My question is will the non-ex model allow me to do these things or will i have to go to the ex. sorry as it is very difficult to ascertain the differences between these models as i don't really know the inputs, wires what a 10v interface is.

1. Temperature control, Ph control

2. 2 float switches for auto top off.

3. control 2 tunze 6055

4. Control profilux fan in sump

6. add 3 pump profilux dosing pump for balling lite.

7. Net Access with Mac osx leopard (is the profilux compatible with mac operating sys)

8.I need two powerbars for a total of 12 outlets.

9. Light control for one outlet t5 and one outlet of mh.

Thanks

I am almost a hundred percent sure it will do everything just fine without the EX but someone with more knowledge can confirm as far as mac support i believe its still a little iffy but can work

For functionality the ProfiLux can do ALL of this.

As for the Mac, we have various users running their systems over an emulator, I am a PC guy but I will see if I can get one of our MAC users to jump onboard and assist with this question.

"For functionality the ProfiLux can do ALL of this." sorry don't mean to seem dense but do you mean the non ex version can do all this as both models are profilux.

And yes i would love to find out how to use this on my mac as that is the laptop in my fish room. Thank you so much for the prompt feedback it is much appreciated.

Hiya, sorry it was a late reply, I will explain further

The ONLY difference between the PII and the PIIEX is this

Additions the EX has as standard

Redox
Salinity
Extra 1-10V ports L5L6
3rd level port for alarms etc
The above does not use up any expansion sockets

The Plus II can be upgraded to an EX at any time by the fitting of the EX axpansion PCB

So unless you want redox and salinity control from day one I would suggest going for the Plus II and later on upgrading it to an EX

ok thanks now i understand, by the way what exactly is a 1-10v port? is that to put a powerbar in? By the way i have to say that this has been some of the best support i've gotten on any product and i haven't even bought it yet! very prompt and informative. I feel very comfortable buying this knowing that if i have any questions or problems i won't be ignored. :)

the 1-10V ports are for dimming lights such as T5 and the simu stick moon lights I believe they are also for controlling pumps like the Tunze
but im sure AQD_ottawa will chime in shortly

Hiya

Yes you are 100% right

1-10V ports marked on the controller as L ports these control devises that have 1-10V controllable inputs, this can be anything, this mainly is used for controlling

Tunze pumps,
dimmable ballasts,
GHL variable speed fan controllers,
GHL LED Simu lighting sticks and Spots

The list will get bigger as more features are rolled out.

The other ports on the back of the controller are call S ports and this is where you plug in the power bars, but never plug a power bar into an L port ;)

Glad you like our support, it is always good to get such feedback.
