I got this frag from another reefer. I love the color intensity and I would love to grow them but this is the way I got them. 2 or 3 polyps are melted and actually only 1 is healthy. The one on the right is only partially opened. What should I do? Keep them on the frag or cut off the healthy one and put it on a new disc? Do you think the one on the right can survive? When I got it I dipped it in CoralRX. All my corals in my tank are very healthy and happy. Parameters are very good and stable.
Thanks for any input.

I believe there should be directions on the bottle... i haven't looked at my bottle directions in a while.

Does dipping in Lugol make any difference while the frag was already dipped in CoralRX? I'm curious if there is another way to save the frag.

I never used any of the above besides coral/rx which IMO and IME I know a lot of people swear by it, but I don't think it does anything realistically, and might even cause more stress than anything.

I had bum luck for a while with z's and read some threads here about brightwell Vit C http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=19682 and gave that a shot. IMO it is close to magic and I now dose that in my ATO and also soak my frozen foods in it. I had several different z's that were melting away and they came back within weeks. Yours actually look nice compared to the one's I am talking about.

Again, just my .02 so take it for what its worth.

Thank you. I am dosing (soaking) Selcon now and I already purchased before Kent Zoe so buying another vitamin supplement would be probably too much but maybe Selcon will have a similar effect on my Zoas. Thanks. So far nothing changed with their apperance.

I took the frag out of the tank, cut off 1 of the melted polyps and then dipped it in CoralRX for 8 minutes. As you can see from the pic they are opened a little more. I put the frag in the same spot as before, low flow. I will wait a few days more and I will cut off the melted polyp in the upper left hand corner. I concluded that removing the melted polyps helps. One of the polyps, the one in the upper part of the pic is still not fully opened but it's stressed by some remains of the melted one so I don't want to touch this area.
This is an updated pic as of today. (The frag is turned a small angle now so the polyp on the left on this pic is the same that is on the 1st picture in the middle, barely visible)

I don't have an experience with melted zoas but this polyp has looked like this for over 2 weeks. It was never opened even partially. I can see today that the remaining polyps respond better. They open earlier in the morning than before.

I posted a message yesterday that one of the polyps is melted and has not been opened for 2 weeks. Well.... it opened today all of a sudden. So, bkhunt, you were right. Here is an updated pic.
