Can Kalk reactors handle pressure?

Will there be pressure in my Kalk reactor?

I will have my RO water tubed to my Top off solenoid witch the float will turn on and off, then from the solenoid to the kalk reactor, and then a tube dumping into the sump.

I personally can't see how there will be pressure in my reactor, as the outgoing end will be open, and have nothing blocking it creating back pressure.

It's a Presision Marine reactor

Thanks

Wait, I've seen it done where it goes from the RO to the Kalk Reactor then to the auto-top off system. Is that what your talking about?

If that's what your doing, then yes I would add a solenoid loop between the RO unit and the kalk reactor.

ReefTECK the Ro will go to the solenoid before the reactor. The Float will trigger the solenoid to release RO water to the kalk reactor, and push out the saturated water already in the reactor. It will be a open end dumping into the sump. if that makes sense

Putting the solenoid before the reactor is a better option than after, better yet is putting the reactor on a dosing pump.

no pressure will build up in the reactor...only if u valve the discharge wich u NEVER want to do(plugs up)....my only concern is the amount of saturated kalk you'll be dumping in the tank at once....
i put a valve on the input to drip the effluent and use a shutoff solenoid on the input if the sump level gets to high(power outage/water change)

Agreed^^^ Some people have made the mistake of plumbing the float for their auto top off (the kind of float that closes the discharge to create backpressure and turn the solenoid off) to the output of their kalk stirrers and that can damage them. But your setup will be fine;)
