Can my floor hold this?

Anybody with any contracting or previous aquarium experience I need some advice. I want to put a Fish only next to my reef tank. They are almost identical 55 gal tanks. Will the weight be a problem and do you think I have to brace the floor or will the stands spread the weight out?

I am encluding a quick mock up of the floor plan of our house. The spot is 10 feet wide and ends with a closet on one side and the outside door on the other.

Thanks for any info. Craig.

just try it....if it starts to bow or you hear a loud crack in the middle of the night followed by a water noise, you know it didn't hold ....besides it's only 55 gallons. J/k I have no clue on this one

I have a 210 right next to a wall like that and my house is holding just fine for 10 years now .... lol If we ever have a hurricane then those tanks will help hold down your house :D so its all good

I assume you are on a crawl space and not a slab. If you can easily get under the wall, check out the bracing below. Shoring it up surely can't hurt. If it easy, do it, I say. I am famous for over engineering everything, though. The weight divided by the square feet is what? Call it 1000 pounds by 16 square foot( 2"x8") = 62.5 lbs-sq foot. A common load considered by a refrigerator is up to 80lbs-sq foot. So you should be OK. Being against the wall definitely helps. Move that load toward the center of the room and it is a whole different story!
Wife's getting that fish only tank, huh? Have you worked out community vs. predator yet?

Thanks guys for the imput. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and go under the house and look. I am so svelt it should be easy as it sees to be tight.:D

Rob I am calling it her tank but I think I will have fun with it to. She wants a dwarf lion of some sort so I will have to figure out what will get along and not get eaten.

I am making a foam rock background so it should be interesting. I will post pics as I go. Been doing lots of research along the way so hopefully I have got it down.

Thanks Shane if your behemouth can sit in your old house that mine should be O.K.
