can radion do it by itself.

I've talked to some pretty knowledgable reefers regarding this question and i value their answers with regard to their great amounts of experience.

i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have 2 g3 radion pros, and i'm trying to decide my next step

i have a 120 gallon 48x25.5x24 peninsula reef that will be sps dominated for sure.

i'm trying to think what i should do... should i buy another radion and put them all perpendicular to the long pain of glass, or should i purchase 4 t5's and add them to the equation. i'm not sure what i should do i don't want to leave well enough alone. over all i have a plan for both.

Thought I read when researching the Hamilton Cebu sun that that's what you used. Why did you switch from that?

I'm using T5 will kessil and don't plan on changing. I bet the radions and t5 on your tank would be more than enough par and provide flexibility.

I was hung up on lighting for the longest time as well but I'm ocd like that. I need another hibby as my tinkering is not good for my reef.

I LOVE CEBU SUN. I would go back to it if I could but with how hot it is and the cost of bulbs and energy I can't do it. I can afford it but I have to have the ac always running and the light spill is wild. And we all know is really because my wife isn't happy with uncomfertable with it

Mike Paletta went to 6 radions over his 300 gallon and does a nice 3 part documentary on the change over from 3 400W MH

He ended up sticking with radions it seems, I havnt finished watching the third video and I just skimmed through the others. but he seems pleased with them. I might just buy another pro then. Not sure yet

Yeah, I really felt it was a good demonstration of their capability and even with the height of his tank and density of his corals he seemed to get great penetration.

I would add some t5s, as that would add some diversity to your lights, I've noticed better colors under t5s.
While I have good colors under my g3 pros I still believe halide or t5 is the best for sps.
Just heat, and bulbs are the main setback.
Under led I can't get red polyps, but in my t5 tank colors are more vibrant.

The radion plan would work fine. I would even recommend using the wide angle lenses though. 3 on a 4 foot tank is what I used to run. Now I run 5 on a 6 feet long tank. Not the pros though.
Having said that t5 radion combo is nice

T5 would be the safe bet. Another Radion would help immensely. Yes they can do it by themselves. I added a pair of t5 to my setup and don't notice the difference but I have 4 radions over a similar sized tank. I did notice a difference going from 3 to 4 lol.

Wow, 4 would be super expensive. I'm having a hard time thinkING of even getting 1

I run hydras all by them selves and they do just fine. I suspect Radions will be just fine also. For my 120 I am planning on using 3 hydras. Since they are real similar on paper I would recommended using 3 Radions.

This may not be what you want to hear, but I would do both.

3 Radions perpendicular and 4 T5.

My friend runs 3 Radions(parallel) & 4 T5's over his 180g Sps and it's not enough. He struggles with certain corals coloring/growing as well as a few shadowed areas.

Doing both will also give you more flexibility if you are all about color. Some Sps guys aren't a picky as him or me, but if your anal about what you want don't compromise now.
