My 29 gallon tank has been setup for 5 weeks i added a clown fish about 2 weeks ago and i notice he has ick. Im taking him out and puting him in hypo to treat it . If i add a seahorse can it also catch ick?

Hi Tony,
It is possible for the gills of the horse to become affected if the problem is severe enough.

If you don't mind a suggestion, I would not recommend keeping the clown and seahorses in the same tank, especially the size tank you have.

In my opinion and experience, it's so much better to set up a tank dedicated to the horses only. Stress free environment for them.

I was just using the clown to add some bio load to the tank. Then i was going to add it into my 55. Should i be ok to take him out and quarintine him then add the seahorses? Or should i leave the tank empty for 6 weeks to make sure there is no more ick?

the cysts will stay in the sand bed forever, unless you have a UV streriliser although it will only affect weakened fish.
