ok i wanna purchase a skimmer for my 70 gallon tank, but im thinking maybe set it up behind the wall, which is a closet and not put it in the wet/dry..or should i just put it in the wet/dry. the only thing is i got my pump in there, dont know if there will be enough room for both. and i dont think there is alot of room next to it for the skimmer. and are these hard to hook up???? sorry for all the questions...but one more, the other side the part where the water comes down into the filter, makes so much damn noise its like im at a water fall. is there any way to quiet it down or set it up different. thanks for all the help!

If you don't have room in your sump you could get a hang-on-back type. Some skimmers are made to be in sump, other out of sump. You can go either way, just check with the manufacture's first and buy the one you need. An advantage of in sump skimming is an overflow of the collection cup doesn't end up on your floor.

If your tank is drilled with an internal overflow, the best way to quite it down is with a Durso type standpipe.

go here and read: http://www.dursostandpipes.com/

You can buy them or make your own.
