I am preparing to set up a bigger tank. It will be a 55 gallon with a 29 gallon sump. I will have dual 250 w 14k mh and a 40 watt 50/50 over it. I plan to use bionic 2 part, and also supplement with Dt's phytoplankton. After the tank matures I would like to house a few different clams. I tried a crocea in my 29 gallon but it died. I had 175 watt 14k mh over it and supplemented ocean's blend 2 part weekly. All parameters were good, but the clam still didn't make it.
Can someone give me a quick run down on general clam care. They amaze me, but i don't want to make another one suffer for an unknown reason. Is there any special feeding or placement, etc, etc, that i can do to make the best environment for it.
