What lighting is that? I could help out since I kept a 10 gallon for 3-4 months up and running with no issues before I upgraded to a 40b with 20g sump.

As of right now the light is a led strip that came with the tank, and I was looking into these ABI 12watt led par 38 lights there about 20$ each but still im investigating, anyone here heard of those? And as for livestock some type of shrimp, hermit crabs, snails; Ive like to get sexy shrimp and a skunk cleaner but dont know if they would get along in a small tank as i read sometimes the skunk will attack other shrimp in nanos. I also liked a pom pom crab and a porcelain anemone crab but i really haven't decided on the clean up crew, As for fish any recommendations? I would like something on the more active side most gobies are cool but stay still most of the time.

Fish

Fish

We have a little scooter blenny in our 30 gal and he is all over the place. A nice docile little guy that loves to crawl all over the rocks and up the sides of the tank. Gobies are cute but they do tend to hang very still a lot of the time. A fire fish might be a nice addition. Be careful not to overstock, two fish with a few inverts sound good.

Thats ok but wont a scooter blenny starve in a small tank because it a dragonet? And firefish sound nice any tank mates that would go with him as I read they are really shy and docile fish.

Yeah, he may. I didn't think of that last night, obviously tired. I am so used to ours who eats everything except copepods! Our fire fish was a little shy but he hung out with all the big boys in our 180 without an issue, I just had to make sure he got food each day as the others were a little more aggressive in their eating style. They are pretty fish too. Ive seen several 10 gals with a clown as well.

Wow your one of those lucky people to get a scooter blenny that eats everything and funny how he doesn't like the copepods jaja,, well i would like to get two of them and mybe a clown? As for the clean up crew still undecided on what to get so many options of cool little inverts.

Ive had my ten gallon for a year today.

Take the wheel off of the biowheel. That thing will harbor nitrates. Youll probably want to toss in at least one small powerhead for proper circulation as well. I just nabbed one of those little Aqueon ones for $24 but Im wanting a Jeabo RW-8

My tanks livestock consists of:
Blue spotted watchman goby
Red pistol shrimp
Yellowtail damsel
Royal gramma
4 blue legged hermits
1 blue tuxedo urchin
1 long tentacle anemone

In small tanks I feel like fish have a higher tendency to jump. See about buying or making a net cover for yours.

Start with your cleanup crew. Youll probably only be able to do one "large" shrimp, maybe an emerald crab or pom pom as well with your hermits and snails. Dont be like me and get astrea turbos. Theyll get wayyy big for the tank lol

Let those guys hang out for a few weeks then slowly add your fish stock. Id advise getting a chunk of live rock to seed yours. If thats store bought live sand im willing to bet it was dead by the time it came out of the bag :c

As far as lighting goes one PAR38 bulb would be solid for what you want to do. Youll get some shadowing on either side but with softies it wont matter as much.

Im getting one of those chinese EverGrow LEDs for $90 on Ebay. I suggest getting your lights in order before getting corals as well :3

An auto top off system is a great help in tanks as small as ours. Look at autotopoff.com

I bought the float switch on ebay.. then the controller and mount through that website. Probably spent $30 on that. Spent $8 on a JBJ aqualifter.

Dont forget to buy a decent test kit when you start getting corals. The Red Sea coral pro kit has been good to me.

Also a hanna checker for phosphates will save a lot of headaches down the road when you get crazy algae blooms.

And def keep up with your water changes!

What are the parameters of your tank as it sits now?

Well my parameters are
Salinity: 1.23
Ammonia: 0.00
Nitrates : 0.00
Nitrate :0.00
I took of the power wheel a week ago and i did a water change yesterday, and the powerhead i finally odered it on amazon should be here tomorrow and most of those things you mentioned never thought about it. Well i was planning on getting 4-5 of the par 38 bulbs found a video and a guy as able to keep all types of coral and even a mini max carpet anemone let me see if i can look for the link.
