...what's on this Yuma rock?

The arrow in the picture is pointing to its mouth whereas... the mouth opens and closes...releasing and sucking back in a smokey colored bubble. That's the best way to describe it.

Anyone know what this is...and should I get it out??

Thanks!

Well, I'm not sure. the bubble thingy that comes out of its mouth looks like its sweeping for food.

I just got the rock yesterday from another reefer and whatever it is, it hasn't moved yet. The mouth just keeps opening and again, it appears that its sweeping for food in the water.

Is it harmless or something I need to be concerned about?

Thanks!!

Ugh.....I tried to edit my post and ended up deleting most of it. Anyways........they're filter feeders = good.

get enough barnicles to fill in your plain spots and suddenly your tank gets interesting. i have a few that are in "dead" areas of my tank. they go un-noticed till they start to feed. then they draw attention and look good :D
