I know this as a rainbow acan, I have one that was given too me as it was apparently dead. Under blue t5's they rock.

+1 Acan Echinata. I got a 2x1 inch frag for under $20 =) They're pretty fast growers too. I'm already thinking of fragging.

+111 on acan echinata. They are bad stingers, and will decimate any coral next to them. Their sweepers aren't long, but pack a punch. Be careful choosing adjacent corals. It's gorgeous by the way. I love them!!!!

+1 more on acan echinata. the trade name for that piece is "awesome acan" if i remember correctly. i have a *** of that in my tank that seems to be growing pretty quick!

Definitely an Acan, no Favid of any kind.
Pretty A. echinata you have there. I paid something like 45-50 bucks for a smaller colony that wasn't have that pretty a couple of years ago..btw.

If you've never had an A. echinata before, be on the lookout for what many call messentary filaments. Way more powerful than sweepers and not translucent. They will creep up current along the sandbed and unleash powerful stinging death on any nearby frag. I swear it seems echinata can smell neighbors and kills them dead in the middle of the night.
