I bought a Snowflake Ocellaris and a wild caught Percula about 6 months ago. The Snowflake is/was about 3-4 times larger than the Percula. They have stayed together since the beginning.
About two months ago I got an H. Crispa nem and both fish took to it within minutes. They have always stayed in it together. Last week the Snowflake chased the Percula out of the nem. He stays near but about 6" away. Occasionally she (I assume) will chase him but doesn't nip at him. She definitely looks like though she is going after him and keeping him away. Yesterday I was watching and she was still doing this and he seemed to go back at her a little bit, but they don't nip at each other. I did see him at one point doing the fluttering thing.
This may not be meaningful, but last week I changed the flow from my Vortechs from high current continuous flow to about half speed and Random mode. This caused the nem to come out from where it was mostly under a rock and protruding out, to be fully out and wide open. This happened around the same time in the clown behavior. Not sure if this is a coincidence or not.
Thanks for your opinions.
