Can this be fixed?

Hi all
I went to put my tunze pumps in to my new setup today and noticed that one of the outer cord casing has split away from where the cord goes into the pump housing. I've attached a picture so you can see where I'm talking about. Can this be fixed? I really can't buy new pumps right now, so I would like to repair it if I can.

Official answer- no, their is no way to safely repair this, water will eventually wick down the cable to the driver and short the driver.

I would imagine very carefully with a combination of liquid electrical tape in multiple coats and with a lot of very careful work, it could be sealed up well enough for temporary use, but the above official answer is the honest truth, by capillary action, eventually water will wick down the cord and fry the driver and possible leak water onto anything nearby, trying to save it may not be the smartest move long term and at best is a very temporary fix.
