can this tank be drilled????

I picked up a 150 gallon ( 72 x 18 x 24 ) glass tank (manufacture ????) Can the sides be drilled for some bulk heads for a sump application in this tank ??????? not sure if its tempered,, is there any way to tell?????

the way to figure out the tempered question is by wearing polerized sunglasses (put them on and look at you car windows to see if your sunglasses will work when you look at an angle you should see a kind of rain bow pattern) then just repeat that on your tank with bright light

The sides will be fine to drill, the bottoms of certain are what you have to worry about.

You can be about 99.99% assured the bottom is tempered. I think the question of the sides is usually a Mfr to Mfr. issue. For peace-of-mind's sake, you may want to invest in a pair of polarized sunglasses and do as tmitlton6 suggests.
