Can Tunze

Can it leach anything copper from the units. Everything in my tank is dying. Polyfilters show heavy metals and copper. Can Tunzes create voltage problems or could corrode?

I need help.

The pumps do have copper coils like any pump but to release copper in the water the coil would have to be exposed and stray voltage would be present. That is something I haven't heard of happening yet as the pumps that run on line voltage have thermastatic switches to turn them off before they get hot enough to rupture, the low voltage ones would short and stop running, but nothing is impossible, just highly unlikely. What Tunze products are you using?

have 2 6100's. Something is showing a metalic leak in my tank.

I don't think they could be the cause because each pump has a small circuit board inside that would be shorted should water contact the coil. The pumps would not be capable of running if the coils were exposed. If this aqaurium is in public or around kids I would check for pennies. If you have done any wiring I would check for pieces of wire which may have fallen in the tank. Otherwise I would check any other pumps you might own but the 6100's could not function if the coils were in contact with saltwater and I strongly doubt, I could say with 99.9% certainty they are not the cause.
