can two anemones be by each other.

I have a long tenacle anemone and a tube anemone that are very close to each other, like almost touching each other. Is one likely to get hurt? Should I move one of them?

50/50 shot on it not being hurt IMO, at work we have about 150 anenomes in a tank, on 1 half, they get along and on the other they dont, so from what I see, its a 50/50 shot

The tentacles of either one of those anemones can reach further than you can imagine. If they start stinging one another they can severely hurt if not kill each other. That is why it is normally recommended that only one anemone per tank, unless it is a large tank (6ft). But with that said, it is up to the anemones, how territorial they are. If they feel the other anemone is taking their food, they will start stinging the other.
So my answer to you would be no, it is not idea, but if you feel you really want two in your tank, try to establish them on opposite sides of the tank. You might be alright, but keep an eye on them. Check for signs of stinging, if you see one is not doing as well as before, get it out, and find a new home for it.

Most animals that have the stinging capability don't even need to have physical contact with each other to attack. If they can sense the presence of another animal they will chemically attack without physical contact. This is why some anemones seem to die a slow death or just don't ever grow in a mixed environment, they spend a lot of the energy that they should use to grow on protecting themselves. I have read that even carbon cannot remove this toxin efficiently. For the most part, clones can get along just fine and some may just not have an aggressive behavior toward other cnidarians (big word for stinging animals).

So it’s kind of a toss of the dice, if you see them shriveling up and small all the time, you might want to keep your favorite and trade the other.

I don't know if it matters because they are seperate species? but for as long as I have kept anemones I have kept multiples of the same species together and they have always lived as a colony almost on top of each other making several anemones one BIG anemone.

These have always been RBTA's GBTA,s OBTA's and LTA's though but many colors all on top of each other

tube anenome supposed to have a nasty sting, but i got a flower/rock anenome next to a LTA and GBTA. they will move if they are getting bothered usually.

These have been in the tank for over 6 months, I do have a 6 foot long tank, they both have migrated to the middle of the tank for what ever reason and are now right by each other. I will move one.

Anemones can & will move on there own. If they do began to fight one will move away from the other. If they've moved from one side of the tank to the middle they moved their because of either flow or lighting or something else. I wouldn't move one, it will most likely move back to that place. Anemones should not kill each other, they'll move away from one another. JMO.
