Can we do a Blonde Naso Tang Primmer?

Well, my experience has been very good w/ my blonde naso. I have a 400 gal 3 year old tank w/17 other tangs and other fish. I purchased mine 8 months ago and he was 6-7" then and bigger now. Absolutely one of my most docile fish. He eats like a pig and bothers noone. The only fish big enough to mess with him is the king of my clan, a 8-9" vlamingi.

I love them, they are IMO the most beautiful tang and have a great personality.

I agree with eric.

I got mine about 18 months ago. He was probably 4-5 inches and is now maybe 7". VERY docile, doesnt mess with any of my other tangs and doesnt get messed with by any of them. Eats like a pig and has from day one. Without question my favorite fish.

Also, and this may just be mine, but my tank had so much bubble algae, i was on the verge of taking out all of my live rock to get rid of it. I had literally thousands of bubbles. Within about 2 weeks of adding the Blonde Naso, he had eaten pretty much every single bubble. Even now, if i move a coral or rock and there are a few pieces of bubble algae under it, he immediately goes in and eats it:confused:

I think blonde nasos are great fish, but isn't the primer supposed to be for difficult or hard to care for fish? Nasos basically you just need to make sure you get a big enough tank and they are like any other tang, they don't really have any special requirements like an Achilles Tang.

I have to agree w/ anbosu. Unless I've missed something, naso/blonde nasos are pretty easy to keep. PROVIDING enough room/swimming area is definitely key.

Sorry Guys! I didn't know the primers were for hard to keep fish. I just added a 7" Blonde to in with my 7" Achillies, and it has been interesting. 12hours of squabling and their staring to pan out now.

Cheers

He's the King of my tank.

I have a quick question i can only get mine to eat greens i take out of the refugium. it will not touch spectrum, mysis, flakes, fuzzy phytes or seaweed strips any advice?

Flameangel how big is yours? Mine is about 7 or 8" and only has small streamers (1/4" at most). When to the streamers start to get big?

One of my favorite fish, and is a must have for anyone with an 8' tank.

Also by do we only talk about the blonde Naso? I like the brunette as well.

It took mine a while to eat pellets, and mine still won't touch mysis. Take the nori and cut it into strips. Then put it on the algea clip. He should start eating it fairly quickly. Once you have had him for a while and he is well established cut back on his feeding, while offering pellets. He will get hungry and start eating the pellets.

buy the brown seaweed selects and watch it fight for it. I mix green, red, and brown all on the same clip.

Also mine won't eat the big NLS pellets but eats the small ones, but he really enjoys Hikari A pellets.

Does anyone have a Blonde Naso with a Powder Blue? I got a fat pig of a PBT about a month ago and has gotten along well with everyone, I have my eye on a blonde Naso that looks very healthy as well, seen it eating mysis. Both fish are about 6-7" in a 125 (until 265 DT is finished) Here are all the tank mates

Med. Marron clown
large Lunar Wrasse
med Humu trigger
large PBT
med yellow tank
med koran angel

Should i wait (4 months est until 265 is ready) or get the healthy dream tang now while I can?

thanks!

Did anyone have any issues with feeding their new Blonde Naso? I have added mine almost 2days ago and doesn't seem hungry. He looks great, but no apetite yet?

Can't quite see for sure...but I think you might start calling yours "Queen" instead of "king".;)

The two "species" have unique species names....N. literatus (black) and N. elegans (blonde). Drives me crazy when people refer to these as "Nasos" because that also includes tons of others like N. vlamingi...N. unicornis...etc. etc.
