Howdy, all...
I've had my tank set up for coming up on 4 years, and recently had a problem with the impeller on one of my 6 Mag pumps. When I opened it up to repair, I noticed that the inside wall of the cavity where the impeller sits is rreally worn, probably because of the impeller having slowly gone bad over a period of time. It wore down the inner lining, and I can feel with my finger it's down to what feels like metal.
Could this be introducing metal poisoning into the tank? I need to check the rest of my Mags, but I've had trouble in the past with what appeared like metal poisoning. It'll be expensive to replace the Mags instead of just the impeller, but...
