Can you add a pair of clowns to an establish tank with 1 clown already in the tank?

Best to just try and pair up your current clownfish. What kind of clownfish do you have?

Always add a much smaller juvie to tank w/ existing clownfish. Never a good idea to have more than 1 pair per tank. What type of clown's in your tank that you're considering pairing up?

I made this mistake, just this weekend.
I have had 2 Orange & White False Percs, since setting up my reef. Saturday, I purchased 2 Black & White Ocelleris Clowns. The first hour was fine....then it became an all out war, in my tank. :uzi: My 2 original Clowns were chasing them from one side to the other. I cut out all the lights, hoping to calm things down.
Sunday, I had to run to Petsmart and grab one of those clear, plastic breeding bins, then catch the 2 Black & White and put them in (which was a pain in the a**) They were at it again. I am going to return them, to the LFS, as soon as they reply to my message.
I asked, before I purchased them, if they would be compatible. They said there should be no problem.

If ever in doubt about something in this hobby, come to Reef Central & ask questions here first. For the most part, I'd trust fellow reefers on here before anything most LFS say. I sometimes wonder if LFS employees just make up answers as they go; they'll say anything to make that sale.
I have 4 false percs in my tank and they are doing fine they eat together sleep together but they dont go near the carpet nem but two of them love my frog spawn. I have a 90g with 100lbs of live rock so they can definitely get away if they need to the crazy thing is my 2 green chromis hangs out with the bunch like a clique that was really a bummer. what size is your tank?

I hope you guys are nearby & have a quick exit strategy for when it goes south...& how long have you guys had these multiple clowns in same tank? Sooner or later you'll end up w/ 1 pair when they start to spawn...It won't be pretty, & it can happen in a blink of an eye. For every one person that is successful longterm, there's at least 15 that have experienced a bloodbath...Why chance it...?
