Can you buy refurbed Tunze streams?

Just wondering. I can't afford one, but I thought maybe there was a possibility you could buy a refurbed one for cheaper?

It is very rare that we get something like that available, about the only time we have refurbs is pumps we used in trade shows and usually they sell at the show or pumps damaged in shipping so they tend to have pretty bad blems. I might suggest eBay or the used forums here as a chance to find pumps a bit cheaper, just be sure to check the sellers feedback history.

Dang, well it was worth a shot. I'd really like to have one, but they aren't cheap. Being I just graduated college and owe quite a bit of money in student loans, I don't think a new Tunze is affordable for me right now. :( Well, if there is any way to get put on a waiting list for one you use at a trade show, that would be awesome. There is a huge frag swap in Nashville in a few weeks...will you be there? If so I'd like to call any possible demo models! :)

I really only do MACNA anymore and I never really know what we will do until a couple months before. This year it is unlikely I will have a display aquarium as it is in Pittsburg and I will be flying. We are a very small company and I only have one employee so I do just about everything myself and I don't have the time or money to do tons of shows. I am sorry but it would be almost a year until there is even a possibility of having a used pump to sell, so barring the rare "crushed by UPS" I just wouldn't be able to keep track of something like that. You are welcome to check with me but in all honesty I think we have had 6 Streams to sell as refurbs in the past 4+ years they have been available. I have seen people get really lucky and buy a "broken" one for $50 and it needed only $30 in repairs but that is a gamble.

Wow, I didn't know you only had one employee! I guess that's good though...keeps payroll low. :) Well, I'll keep my eyes peeled, and I'll keep in touch over the next year or so.

Yeah, that "free" 2-liter of Coke I got for signing up for my first credit card in college ended up costing around $1,549.21 :D
