Just curious....you know how you can get packages of frozen pre-cooked shrimp from the store. Can you thaw a shrimp out and feed a tiny piece of it to an anemone?

Or does it have to be raw?

Anemones will eat just about anything they can wrap their tentacles around..

cooked shrimp probably loses some nutritional value but im sure it is safe

I have fed my anemones all kinds of cooked food. Fish, shrimp, lobster, crab legs. Personally, I wouldn't feed cooked food exclusively though.

I'm sure it won't hurt them. However, when you cook something, heat breaks down many of amino acids and vitamins that are what the anemone really needs from the food.

First question is.. why are YOU buying pre-cooked shrimp?
You know it takes like 2 minutes per side to cook, and theres only 2 sides...

Number 2, The chances of wild animals eating cooked anything is slim to none

The pre-cooked shrimp wasn't intended for the anemone. It was food for my family! I just opened up the freezer, saw it and wondered :)
