Thanks guys,
It's been a fun challenge so far.
I think the parents did the hardest part, which is to produce viable larvae.
Ray:
It's neat to see them change to more fish-like fish, if that makes any sense.
kitty: They are in a transition phase atm. Some will eat rots others bbs. I'm slowly going towards no rots. Probably will stop feeding them any by the 14th day.
Jeff: I don't know about biz, because it takes a lot of time and dedication. It would probably break down to 2bucks an hour, but at least it's interesting hours.
I've at least met the recent goals of getting a few through metamorphosis.


If you haven't figured it out, it's the whale like one under the blue line.

These are A.percula. I'll post pics of the parents when I get home.
They have quite a bit more black on them than A.ocellaris.
I think if you want to do it, you can, it just takes commiting to a cleaning and feeding schedule. So far things have gone pretty good for me. Grow out may prove to be the most difficult part with percs as they take longer to grow out.

I became a professional Poker player a year ago and I still can win money at any time on-line.
At any time I wish I can go to Party Poker and make about 3 bucks an hour on average. So I guess I will keep my day job!

Can you believe that the little fry are already starting to fight with each other? Less than 2 days after meta and a couple are fighting for the right to swim next to the heater temp probe. Clowns is the right word for these fish. Oh man, grow-out is gonna be fun..

Update

Day 14 and most have gone past metamorphosis.

You can tell when they start to bunch up instead of swimming around as free larvae. Also a good sign of meta is when the headstripe is seen. Some atm are very prevalent others are just starting to show. Thought I'd throw in some new pics I took today.

Sorry about the size of the second one. Photoshop is unpredictable sometimes.
