I am looking for a wavemaker pump for my 125 gal AGA reef tank with almost 200 lbs of live rock. What would be best for me? I just have a couple of powerheads now. The dimensions of the tank are 72X18X24
Personally, I'd recommend two 6000 streams with a multicontroller, to simulate tidal action. If your rock is really porous, and your tank is quite full, you might even be able to get away with a TS24 kit, which has two 6100 pumps instead.
I try my best to not miss any emials- occasionally I don't get a notification or I get so many emails that I overlook one. I am sorry. To give the most correct answer I would need more information about inhabitants. For a lower flow situation I would use 2 6000 Stream Electronic or 2 7400/2 Turbelle Electronic. I would use these with the 7094. If you have almost all SPS and since you have so much rock 2 6100 Stream could work as well but I would likely then use tide mode on the 7094 so only one was on at a time. The 7400 and 6100 both will have a flow which carries 6-8ft. The 6000 tapers off sharply at 4ft so pulse mode with bothe running would be the acceptible program.
