Can you kalk over macro?

Hello, I would like to find out if anyone has ever tried this.
There is this particular type of macro I would like to get rid of for fear of smothering mushrooms, zoanthids, etc.

I think it is the small blade razor calupera? It wraps tightly around rock so when you try to pull it out, it only breaks into little pieces.

Well, I can't reach some of it and it seems to be growing faster than the large feather kind I have. I would rather have the feather since it's easier to control.

So if I spread kalk paste over the area, should it kill off the macro?

I'm not sure if anyone has tried this but it sounds like a strategy that may work. If you've already attempted it, or will in the future, be sure to let us know how it works in controlling your Caulerpa problem.
