Can you over-boil carbon?

OK, I put some used carbon on the stove to boil out the gunk, and I kind of forgot about it. I'd guess I had it at a full boil for about an hour. There was still some water left, so I didn't quite go from boiling to frying, but I'm wondering if I've ruined the stuff.

I don't know if you've hurt it any, but I don't think that boiling it helps regeneate it much. Most studies show that higher heat (300 to 900 deg C) and steam are necessary, and even then it is only partially useful. Some have used home microwave ovens on damp carbon to partially regenerate it.
