Can you re-use carbon?

I have 2 JBJ nano-cube dx 12 gallon stock. For the one nano cube that is fish only, is it OK to take the sack of carbon out, wash it off and let it dry for a few weeks before putting it back in, or is it basically all used up and now just putting all the polutants back into the tank?

The later. You can't reuse carbon since it will eventually leech what it absorbed back into your tank. Heard you can recharge carbon, but would need an oxygen free oven. You can always buy carbon in bulk and get a filter bag to put it in, if you're trying to save some money.

Carbon has small pours that trap organic material. Once these pours are filled the carbon will no longer filter. These pours can be emptied but the average hobbiest will find it easier to just buy new carbon.
