Can you safely move mushrooms?

I've got some basic red mushrooms (nothing fancy, but I like them).
I started out with two that were the size of a half-dollar......and now they're growing and multiplying. So much so, I need to move some of them to another tank.

How can I move them without damaging them? Their bases are somewhat 'inside' of a rock, so it will be difficult to get to.

Also of note...
I'm fairly new to mushrooms, but I've been amazed by their behavior. The 'parent' mushrooms will kinda 'wilt' in order to give the smaller ones light for a day or so.....as you can see in this first photo.
Amazing!!! How does it know?!?!

OK, for some reason the search engine didn't produce results when I 'searched before posting'.
Now I'm reading some of the same questions below.

My revised question....
How can you safely move them if you cannot get to the base of the mushroom? Is it impossible?

You can cut the shroom off at the stem. Place the disc in a small plastic bowl with small bits of liverock in it, and use "bridal vail" that you buy at the fabric store as a lid. Just rubberband the vail over the top of the tub. Or set the shroom on a rock put the vail over it and glue it to a rock with super glue. Either way the shroom will reatatch to the rock. And when you cut the sroom at the stem, whatever is left behind on the original rock, will regrow....

Its hard to kill a discosoma -- You'd have to try pretty hard to do so (or have very poor water quality). I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just cut them off and get them to attach to another rock.

As for the wilting thing, I've noticed that behavior too but I never associated it with the mushroom allowing the other mushrooms to get light -- interesting idea. From what I've seen my red mushroom tends to wilt for a week or two after it reproduces, which made me think it was "exhausted" from the process or something. They're strange creatures, but wonderful in my opinion.

I'm not sure that is the reason, but some days they will be opened fully (covering the smaller ones), and other days they 'wilt'.

Thanks for the suggestions.
If they will regrow.....is it worth trying to prune them? Will the reproducing slow down as space gets limited? If so, I may just move that zoanthid rock to another place, and let them have the rock.

In my opinion it is worth it. Most LFSs will glady give you $1-3 each for them and turn around and sell them for $4 - 8. Great way to get some store credit and it doesn't take that much effort to do so.

If space gets limited on one rock they'll move onto other rocks or detach and float around until they find another spot to attach.

in the very first pic what are the brown polyps that are next to your big shroom? i got some on a piece of live rock and i dont know what it is?!!!!

If you don't mind, I have a question as well. Is there a way to detach the mushrooms from LR rubble without the need to cut them? Like do you just pull them off?? Sorry, new to mushrooms and very happy with my rockscape! :D
