In Paso Robles California for some holiday wine tasting. Went out for sushi and they had a salt tank. Nice pair of clowns, a clam and some other fish. The rest of the tank was a leather, tons of Xenia and gsp and an over abundence of green bubble algae. Never seen it this big so had to share. They need a whole flock of emerald crabs.

yes emerald crabs are known for eatiing bubble algae. i purchased two emerald crabs and they both quickly started eating my bubble algae, it was gone in less than two weeks. however, i must warn that emerald crabs can get quite large and can become a nuisance in the long run. since your problem seems to be minimal, i suggest removing the bubble algae by siphoning it out when you do your water changes. Good luck!

I had some bubble algae. Got an emerald and I still have algae. He hasn't taking a liking to it. But as stated above they are supposed to eat the stuff.

i've bought 5 or 6 emeraldlds in the last 6 months they wont touch it...
I have a little of it and cant not get rid of it
i have only seen one or two crabd just occasionally since I added them - too many dark rocks for them to hide in i guess
they seem real reclusive and afraid of anything that moves

There are some other species of bubble algae emeralds will not touch. I have some in my kids tank. It's almost decorative the way it looks. The bubbles grow wierd shapes, have flat sides and are very dark in color then get coraline growing on them, or they naturally start to look like coraline. None of my emeralds would ever touch that one, but decimated the normal common bubble algae most tanks see.
