I currently have a couple of anthias and a coral beauty in QT doing a little hyposalinity time, 4 weeks counting. The main display has been fish free for the same time. Can you see ich with the naked eye in a tank, not attached to the fish? I know it cycles and I'm not sure if it's what I'm seeing occasionally or not. Thanks!

Unfortunately, the only way to see ich is either on the fish, which isn't even the ich but the entrance and exit wounds on the fish. You can see it under a microscope. Just be patient and wait the full recommended time it will pay off in the end.

i have some new fish coming in from LA. I want to QT them even though i hear that LA fish is already QT.

will hypo hurt the new fish coming in?

With my experience hypo doesn't hurt the fish at all. There are reports that it actually helps them. Lowering salinity can be done easily in a day but, you want to space out raising the salinity over a couple days to a week.
