can you split a haddoni

well i know you can manually split a bubble tip but can you do this to a haddoni? Im not sure you really want to be could you would it live? Also I have heard a good bit saying their bubble anemone split on its own will a haddoni do that too?

For the second part of your question, I don't recall ever reading about any Haddoni splitting on its own. There have been reports of them "budding", however. Back when I kept BTAs, they would split often, but my Haddonis ( 9+ years ) have never done that.

In that link it showed the anemone right after it had been cut. It didn't show it weeks and months later. Phender, who is about as expert with anemones as anyone, divided a Merten's that lived for a while, but eventually succombed. My recommendation is to stick with species that regularly divide assexually in nature. Many have successfully divided BTAs, and recently a few have successfully divided H. magnifica. As for the other host anemone species, I wouldn't recommend fragging.

You could but it will die..yeah that link didn't have any updates months later. The person that did this to his carpet anemone was taken off the forum or took himself off the forum.

I would have to agree that fragging a healthy anemone and keeping it for another month is not a big deal. When I fragged my carpet (although it was a merten's and not a haddoni) one half lived for a couple months, the other for about a year but never regained its original vigor.
BTAs and magnifica split on their own in nature and reproduce that way quite often. They are good candidates for manual fragging. Carpets and sebaes don't split like that in nature. If they could do it easily, I am sure they would. They just don't seem to have the same power of regeneration.
Yes, all anemones can be split and will look good a couple hours, days or weeks afterwards. Not many people (I might remember one) have been able to keep carpet frags alive long term.

Here is the thread from my experiment. I am not saying that because I couldn't do it, it can't be done. I am saying the the other cnidarians that we cut/frag like sps, mushrooms, ricordia, BTAs, etc., reproduce by fission or breaking in a couple hours. When carpets have been known to bud or split, the process has taken many months. You can't expect them to react the same to being cut in half either. JMO

Only a few years ago, keeping reef inhabitants in a tank was thought to be impossible too.

Certainly several decades ago, most of the species of reef inhabitants we are successfully keeping today weren't successfully kept. However, as I and Phender mentioned, splitting doesn't seem to be a natural way of dividing for carpets. It's not a matter of technology, it's a matter of genetics.
