I have heard names like Texas Trash....pretty huh?
Grandis is right, they are a nuisance. They grow 'incredibly' fast and win the wars against pretty much all other corals. I have plenty. I am bad at throwing things away though and no one wants them and this tank is just my putter tank while I wait until I can afford the next level. I only let them live because the tank is also filled with xenia, yellow polyps, blue clove polyps, fuzzy shrooms, kenyas and everything else that people call trash. One man's trash right?
Notice I have them in the bottom middle but they are throughout the tank is small numbers on multiple rocks before I could get to them. Basically, get rid of them/isolate them very well or they WILL take over.
Brown, brownish green, greenish brown, tan, these are all the 'problem' palys and they are all over my tank. If I wanted to get rid of them I would have to take the whole tank down. Beware of these palys! They can be pretty but they WILL be everywhere.
Right island has lots of 'bad' palys. Two rocks in the middle bottom too and some on the left island too. It is hard to kill them without harming the tank and it has to be done so slow they just grow at the same rate. I would go back in time and never never buy them. Only way they are kept in check are all the other 'nuisance' corals I have that also grow fast.
