Can "zoa pox" be cured?

I was feeding my palys tonight, and noticed some faint white dots on the base of my 2 of my frags. I looked on zoaid and the spots look like the zoa pox pic, but the spots are not as definate. Is this a permanent thing, will it pass, or can it be cured?

Did you read the thread on Zoaid about the "cure".

I had it on my pink zoas and I left them alone and it went away without killing anything.

Just my experience.

I had it pop up on a few of my Bam bams and it went away with water changes. I read that thread on Zoaid a while back and was ready to try it if the water changes did not work

Try a google of zoa pox. There is a lot of stuff out there;).

This is all anecdotal, but the couple of times I've had it, I suspected heat and water quality (always seemed to happen at the warmer points of the year, and/or when I hadn't been doing waterchanges as I should). After correcting those, it went away each time. There is no direct correlation on my part, though- just hey, I did this and they seemed to go away. I'm pretty sure that none that formed the pox ever survived, but the pox quit spreading (and eventually disappeared with the dying pox ridden zoas).

I can't say they will definitely die, but any that showed stress from the pox that I've had did. I may have had some that never got so stressed that they stayed closed make it, but not positive on that either.
