Can zoas last 2 days in bags?

I'm going to be moving across the country and have a quick question. Is it a good idea for me to put my zoa collection in bags/tupperwares for a 2 day car ride? I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem as long as temperature is maintained. Any thoughts?

Having been keeping zoanthids for almost 20 years I have found that some do well as long as they are kept warm and some just don't seem to have a low survival rate after just one day.

I think you will be fine. Just put them in an adequate amount of water and try and keep the temp from swinging to much. I have had zoas go a day or two in a bag and be fine.

As long as you have them in a real good cooler. Don't open the cooler to much as to having the ambient temp in there to dissipate. probably have a heat pack in the cooler.

Yes, definitely maintain the temp as much as possible, which most likely won't happen in a car, but moderate shifts won't hurt. I have received zoas on the 3rd day of an overnight shipment and the water was below 60 degrees and they survived. Just remember that zoas can tolerate cold better than they can heat at which time they will begin turning to a slimmy mush, yikes !!!!

I too have recieved them from 3 day shipping and they were fine. And they were in very little water, I guess to save the shipper money.

i had a frag that i left in a styrofoam box with a lid for three weeks... i put it back in my tank and its completly pale in color. the zoas really shriveled up and shrunk though
