Canceling my order

Place an order on Jan 19 for 1 PFO 250 HQI ballast, 2 coralvue 250 watts 20K bulbs and 2 PFO mogul socket assemblies.

Received 2 emails from Jason and Tim in Jan 21st saying that PFO sockets assemblies are not in stock and may arrive on friday or tuesday and will ship asap then they are available. Replied to Jason that I can wait.

Email PA today jan 29 asking for the status of my order. Was told by Tim that coralvue bulbs are now out of stock ( funny, they were in stock when I placed my order and should be on hold for me).

I always order everything from PA since 1999 but I am going to cancel my order and go somewhere else.

Very disappointed.

At least you got emails from them telling you they were out of stock. Marine Depot doesn't even do this. Bro, I would give PA another chance they really have great customer service. I bad experienc sinc 1999....you should be so lucky with anyone else

Hi,

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Unfortunately we do run out of product at times, and we do not get stocked back up as quickly as what we would like to. There was an accounting error in our system with the particular lamps that you had purchased, in which it showed we had two held for you, when in reality we did not. When you spoke with Cory on the phone, he tried to offer you the XM 20k's at a discounted price, in which you were not interested in. We are only human, and mistakes do happen here unfortunately. We value everyone of our customer's, wether they are spending $5 or $500. In the end I want every single one of our customer's to be pleased with their transaction, although every great once in a while this is not the case. If you would like to email me personally, maybe we could work something out that would rectify this situation. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jason,

Other online vendor has the items in stock but I prefer to order from PA even if I have to wait a little while longer. Unfortunately, I have been counting on moving tank and installing the lights this weekend. Probably I should have checked on the status earlier.

Thanks for the response, I will keep PA for my future needs.

PA has always been great by me!!! They and a couple others (I won't mention here but) online are better to deal with than the LFS. And the LFS's have markups that are obseen when compared to etailers. Usually the people who complain the loudest seem to have the most problems. I wonder why that is?

So one mix up and all of sudden their cast aside?

This is one of those posts that is mearly a matter of inconvenience and not worth mentioning, IMO. Certainly not on an open forum with the intension to mark their reputation

So what is this forum for ? Praises only ? I thought good or bad. I am allowed to voice my opinion.

Besides, if you have plan and have everything ready counting on the equipment and ended up can't do you work, it's more than matter of incovenience. Perhaps your corals have no light for 3,4 days is just a matter of inconvenience for you.

Hey, have fun deciding whether it's inconvenient or not.

No, that would be the "Vendor Experiences" section

Next time you have a plan, make sure you have the parts in hand before you start.

Funny you didn't mention your tank was without lights in your 1st post. That would have been my main concern, not that my project was delayed. I am going to have to say you did have lights, because why would you take the old ones off before you even knew when the new ones were coming?

So it didn't work out the way you planned, big deal.

If ops think this is not appropriate, they can move it.

Next time you have a plan

Sure, you never had any supplies not being there when you start your planscape project.

If you don't know, ask ! before opening your mouth. Don't assume.

Well, all I can say is that I have had great luck with PA so far. I received an order from them last week that was perfect. Plus they beat everyone else's price by $35. Yesterday I placed an order for a Tunze osmolator. By 4:00 eastern time they called me and told me that it was backordered from tunze. Of course I was dissapointed to hear this but at least they let me know as soon as they found out. Unfortunately I do need this part this week so I had to cancel the order and go elsewhere. However, here in the next month or so they will definately get my business when I order my Tunze stream.

It is always a bummer to find out that you are not getting something when you expected it. However, the way the company handles this is what lets you know what kind of company you are dealing with. They could have screwed around for another day or two before they let me know, but instead notified me immediately. To me that says a lot.
