Cancelling a message

When you are in message tracking and you cancel a pm what does that do exactly? Is it like recalling an email in outlook, where it removes it from the person inbox that you sent it to, if they have not read it yet?

I think it is just saying "I don't care if and when they read it so dobn't tell me" but they still get the message.

It cancels the message. The recipient will not receive it and therefore will not be able to read it.

I did not get the bad PM you sent me telling me to shut up and quit talking

It will look like you have a message but when you click on it there will be nothing.

that appears to be what happened... I guess I know why I never got responces on some of those messages!!!
