Candy Cane & Water Flow problem

Well I got a new piece of Candy Cane Coral and I put it in moderate flow. I have 29 gallon and my skimmer comes from the top left and i put it on the ground on the right side, sorta where the water comes through.
Anyway.. I see that it turns from its natural tealish green color to a brownish color all throughout the day. Is this normal or is it in bad flow? I dont have many other places for it, thats why it is there.. any solutions?

Low-flow, and trun off the flow for 20min when feeding them.

is the coloration change a bad thing or does that just happen?
It isnt brownish all day, it moves from teal, to brown to clear and back.
