Candycane

I have a NC 12 with 36 watts of PC can a trumpet/candaycane go under this? If needed how can I upgrade the lighting without drilling holes all over the hood?

i agree, a candycane will be fine in there. just put it mid-to-high in the tank if possible.

You should be fine, as is. I have them in NanoCube 6g with 18W:

the neon green tolerates less light, than cold-greenish: this likes more light, you can place light-loving corals close to the top.
Cold green and bicolor at higher light:

Nice variety of canes there dendro!
I have mine in a 75g, almost completely shaded by a very large orange monti cap...they seem to like it.
You can spot them in the middle of this shot.
