cannon a610 not downloading pics

Well as the title says i cant figure out why my camera wont dl the pics to my comp. I have the cord hooked up to the back of the comp and to the camera but for some reason it wont bring up my camera window when i turn on the camera. So i tried to start the camera window myself and it just does nothing. It has worked before but now i cant get it to happen

Any help would be appreciated

It won't solve the problem tonight but I highly recommend a cardreader- they don't cost much (twenty bucks or less even) and they are faster than the camera and you don't need to plug the camera into ac power or worry about battery power. The cardreader shows up on your computer like any other drive.
Have you tried rebooting your computer? When you go to 'my computer' do you see the camera listed as a drive? If not, try unplugging and replugging the usb cable.
