Cannot access APEX!

Hello all,

I cannot seem to access my controller from either my local computer or my iPhone app. Everything was working fine yesterday and now nothing.

When I try and type in the apes URL on my local machine it is redirecting me to a different website.

Is there a way to reboot the apex?

Thanks,

Dallas

I had a few times the same issue.
I just unplugged the Apex for a few seconds and it worked again.
Did you update to the newest firmware? Since I did I don't have that issue anymore

Firmware is 4.04. BC10

I have rebooted the modem, the wireless game adapter and the apex, still nothing! What should I do next?

Thanks

Maybe an update would solve the issue.

I am not a pro and hope somebody else might chime in also but
If you were able to access the Apex until today something must have changed.
Do you usually connect locally to the Apex with http://apex or http:// your ip address?

On the local network i use Http://apex and from work i use the DynDns ip address. Neither seem to be working. I also use Aquanotes all day from my iphone and it is not working either.

Updates should only be done with the APEX plugged in to the modem not on a wireless connection correct?

When the APEX works it is really cool..... but when it doesn't its like the end of the world! HAHA Maybe I put too much faith into it!

Try the local IP address instead of the http://apex.
YES... Better to do the update wired.

When I try and go through the local IP address I get to the ID and Password screen, when I type my information in I get redirected to the Linksys setup page (the wireless bridge i am using).

Do I need to go through this setup again?

I would suggest to give the Apex a "static" IP. This avoids the risk your router is going to give him a different IP in case of power outage, reboot etc. You won't notice the change in IP when this happens but of course you won't be able to connect to it anymore.
To do this you have to disable "DHCP" in the Apex and put in manually the IP.
Have a look at the manual. It explains how to do this.
You might have issues with the HTTP port also. The default is 80. I changed mine to 82 but you will have to tell the router to forward that new port to the IP you assigned the Apex.

I have done all of this and everything was working great then poof..... no access.

DHCP is OFF ports are forwarded, ect.

I am getting access to something using Aquanotes it is just not the apex that i have set up. (when i unplugged the game adapter "Connection failed" is what I get.

And no access whatsoever from any computers.

Well, Everything seems to be working fine again!! YAY

I'm not sure what I did to fix the problem but i'm back online and monitoring my precious tank!

I hope I dont see www.apex.com again for a long time!! (That is the website I get redirected to when something is wrong!!)

Thanks,

Dallas
