I assume that is in Canada somewhere.

Yes, these are from Algonquin Provincial Park, which is in central Ontario. Ontario's first official provincial park, and a very large on at that. Basically a lifetime's worth of canoe routes in this park alone.

Not a huge fan of portaging, but when you have to you have to.

I like the loons courting and the falls. Nice job.

Wow that falls picture is sick love the motion blur slow shutter shot. I'm guessing you had some sort of camera support or bracing to shoot that since usually u gotta get down to 1/10 or slower great shot

Thanks for the comments

Franky, you are correct, I used a tripod for the waterfall shot. I had to adjust the legs unevenly and wedge one of the feet in a crack between some rocks to get it stable - all while overhanging the river from a ledge. I spotted the tripod just in case it fell over. I think the shutter speed was 2 to 3 seconds, and given the bright conditions, I also used a neutral density filter to allow for a longer shutter speed to get the motion blur without overexposing.

Wow. This wildlife is incredible. I was just up in timmins. How far away from there were you?

There is an incredible amount of wildlife in Algonquin. However, at times it can feel like you paddle for a long time without seeing anything at all... dawn and dusk are definite peak periods. Timmins is a long way further north than Algonquin - close to 500 km or 4 to 5 hour drive north and slightly west.

The fact that you didnt overexpose the reflection on the log is incredible! My first impulse was to ask if it was HDR. You did everything right on this one! Standing O! Love the "paint stroke" water effect in the foreground.

wow, amazing stuff.

would you mind sharing your setting on the long exposure shot of the Galipo waterfall

Great shoots man its really good mind blowing result your camera has.. What camera you have for your personal use..?

Thanks. Camera is the canon 7D. If you are looking for a landscape camera, the 5D Mark II is probably a better option.
