Canon camera question

i didn't relize there was a photo fourm in here lol.. im going to be getting my first kinda expensive camera and was looking at this one.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...80017662612&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEBI:IT&rd=1 .. i seen some pics from the S1 and they looked awsome.. anyone have any thoughts on this camera? is it a good "starter"? i just wanna take some pics of my fish and family.. nothing to fancy .. any info or PICS taken from this camera would be great! thanks in advance

I own the S2 and love it, though photography is addicting so watch out. I'm already planning on upgrading to a DSLR. If you don't plan on using the manual though it would be cheaper to buy a regular point and shoot. Check out this site, I love it.

those are some awsome pics! do you think the S1 will produce that good of pics or no? just wonderin b/c its like 100.00 bucks cheaper lol.. i don't plan on shooting alot just family pics and shots of my tank mates.. thanks

The s2 is a vary nice camera. I was going to get one but canon didn't make the underwater case for it. If you can find the s1 you can buy an underwater case for it for SCUBA/Snorkeling. I got the a620 and the 30d.

I don't know the difference between the S1 and S2, I know there is not much difference between the S2 and S3, so I'm sure it's not much. Just do some research and you should be able to figure it out.

i ended up getting the S1 off of ebay last night.. 140.00 .. not bad its new w/ a warrenty.. hopefully it will come in the next few days and i can start gettin some pics! that's cool that you can buy a underwater case for them!
