Can I shoot quality pictures with a Canon G10?

This camera can work with macro lens?

I'm looking for a camera that I can use on vacation trips, family pics, put on my pocket and also, photograph my corals with quality. I thing that G10 is what I'm looking for.

I think the G-10 is the best you can do short of a DSLR right now. This camera does not work with a macro lens, at least not a real one. That is DSLR territory. The G-10 is an excellent all around camera for most situations.

Your desire for compact size and portability suggest the G10 is a very good fit for you compared to a dSLR, which is substantially larger (forget about putting it in your pocket) and generally carried around with an assortment of lenses and accessories.

IMHO, the G10 is an excellent compromise between convenience and performance.

You do not need a macro lens for a g10. It has built in macro capabilities.

Thanks everybody, searching for the best type of camera for me I have discovered the Panasonic Lumix LX3. I little more expensive but smaller than the G10. Witch one you guys think will be better?

One question, G10 28mm lens, LX3 24mm lens, any difference regarding coral pictures?

If you want smaller, Panasonic makes some good cameras. But if photo quality is more important than size, stick with the g10.

The Panasonic LX-3 would be my 2nd choice in a non-DSLR.
