I have a Canon t6i and I'm on the market for a macro lens that is good but also doesn't empty my wallet. Any suggestions?

100mm macro non L is affordable.

Is that something I can zoom with? I use a porthole to take pictures of zoas that are 2 feet below water surface. I end up cropping it but still it's a little blurry.

A macro doesnt zoom it already is zoomed in in 100mm

Said another way, macro lenses are typically prime lenses (fixed focal length) and don't zoom. One zooms by moving the lens closer to or farther away from the subject.

I am a big fan of the Canon 100mm macro lens.

Love my Tokina 100 f 2.8. Clean lens and sharp! I do shoot with a 6D, so it is full frame. I do have a T3i that I use for stacking but I haven't used it on that camera yet. Not sure crop factor would matter with the prime lens, though.
