Canon Ti1 or Nikon D3100??

I looked at both and they are very comparable. I cannot really tell much of a difference. The canon is 15MP and the nikon is 14MP. Is there any major differences that would sway me one way or the other? I am a newbie with DSLR and everything I have ever had was a point and shoot. I really want to get a good camera for my awuarium and just good overall pics.

Either one is fine. Lens selection is more important! Though I'm more of a canon guy myself. However, if you plan on using it for video I think the nikon 3100 is better since it's a bit newer and has video autofocusing.
